Your Holiday Guide to the Mediterranean island of Menorca.
Menorca
Menorca or Minorca as it is sometimes known is one of the most unspoilt islands in the Mediterranean. Unlike many of the other islands Menorca's development has been strictly controlled, and so has retained its natural beauty with much of the lovely countryside untouched. One of the smallest islands in the area Menorca is only thirty one miles in length and nine wide.
As well as the varied countryside the island has excellent beaches of fine sand, Son Bou is probably the longest beach in Menorca, the main attraction being the backdrop of lush countryside which has been unspoilt by development.
The islands resorts are much more low key than those of the neighbouring island of Majorca and appeal to those wishing to have a quiet relaxing holiday, by day you can explore the lush countryside and lovely secluded coves, and on the warm Menorcan evenings there are plenty of stylish restaurants and bars where you can sample superb cuisine and watch the sun go down.
Menorca has kept the perfect balance between tourism and local life, which is part of its charm; you will find traditional small villages along side the holiday resorts.
