Fornells Menorca

The lovely little village of Fornells is located in a bay in the north of the island of Menorca. The village dates back to the 16th Century and at one time had a castle; the only remnant is the watch tower on the headland outside Fornells.

Fishing is still a way of life in the village and you will see traditional Menorcan fishing boats moored up in the harbour. The village is still very traditional in character with its white painted buildings, and luckily has escaped the construction of large apartment blocks and hotels. During the day head for many of the unspoilt beaches that are nearby. Fornells offers plenty of activities such as diving, kayaking and scuba diving for those who want to be a little more adventurous.

Fornells Nightlife

If sea food is your thing then you have come to right place as Fornells is famous for its fish restaurants, and one local specialty, lobster, particularly the traditional Menorcean dish of caldereta de llagosta (lobster stew).Try one of the little restaurants by the harbour where you are guaranteed freshly caught local fish.

Fornells waterfront is a wonderful place for an evening stroll before dinner and a cool drink in one of the stylish local bars. The atmosphere is relaxed but quite lively without noisy nightclubs, and is great for families.

Accommodation Fornells

The standard of hotel accommodation in Fornells is excellent; there are some small stylish hotels within the village with larger hotels located not far away.
